Newcastle are still interested in making a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson and are considering a £40m deal for the England international, according to the Manchester Evening News.
If Tengah continues to back De Gea, the chances of Henderson leaving the club on loan or in a move this summer could be greatly increased, with Newcastle understood to be considering completing a deal for around £40m.
Dubravka was discussed for Henderson at transfer deadline day, but the deal fell through when dubravka refused to join United.
Henderson would be open to joining Newcastle and, with the World Cup looming at the end of the year, he desperately needs playing time to prove himself. United are expected to sign a replacement goalkeeper if Henderson leaves.
Henderson, 25, is contracted to United until 2025 and, with his £110,000 a week salary, insiders believe he is more likely to leave on loan. Henderson has made just three appearances for United so far this season, none in the Premier League.
