La Liga has filed a complaint with Uefa accusing Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City of breaching financial fair play rules.

【 Official statement 】

La Liga complained to UEFA this week about Paris Saint-Germain after learning that some clubs were repeatedly breaking financial fair play rules, adding it to a complaint it made against Manchester City in April.

La Liga argues that these practices have changed the context and sustainability of football to the detriment of all European clubs and leagues, and that they are artificially inflating the market without bringing in money for the game itself.

La Liga understands that the informal financing of these clubs takes the form of direct capital injections and sponsorships that do not conform to the rules of the market, as well as contracts that do not make economic sense.

The complaint against City was filed in April and a related complaint against Paris Saint-Germain was filed last week. Expanding the prosecution with new data in the coming days cannot be ruled out. La Liga officials have signed up French and Swiss law firms, including French lawyer Juan Blanc’s, with a view to proceeding administrative and judicial proceedings with French authorities and the European Union as soon as possible.

Nasser may have conflicts of interest in different roles at PSG, UEFA, UEFA and Bein Sport, and La Liga is studying alternative representatives in Switzerland.

This is not the first time la Liga has complained to UEFA about these anti-competitive practices. Spanish institutions have always led the battle for fiscal fairness. In 2017 and 2018, we submitted reports to UEFA regarding breaches of financial fairness by Paris and Manchester City, which led to uefa imposing sanctions on the two ‘national clubs’, which were later lifted due to a bizarre decision by CAS.

La Liga’s complaint, along with a recent statement from the Spanish Club Association, is based on data and follows a detailed follow-up and analysis of clubs’ audited accounts.
